… Lauds and appreciates Zulum
The Borno State University (BOSU) had on Thursday held matriculation and oath administering to over Three thousand four hundred newly admitted students for 2021/2022 academic session.
The ceremony took place at the University’s premises.
The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Umar Kyari Sandabe, supervised the administering of oath, while DVCs Admin, Prof. Fanna Inna Abdurrahman, that of Academics Prof. Haruna Thlakwa, and the Registrar, Alh. Zanna M. Kashim assisted the VC.
The VC, Professor Umar kyari Sandabe expressed his delight at the phase of development the University is going through, citing example with the number of students the varsity started with, back to then commencing of academic activities during the 2019/2020 session with only 647 students in four faculties.
Professor Sandabe, on behalf of the University’s Council, Senate, Management, staff, and students, applauded and appreciated the Executive Governor of Borno State, His Execellency Prof. (Engr). Babagana Umara Zulum, whose commitment to the ideals and objectives of the university is untiring.
Sandabe advised the newly matriculated students to imbibe the learning and reading culture, discipline, and stride of excellence, to behave scrupulously and to avoid contumacious behaviors.
He added that the University cannot tolerate any deviations from these moral ethical values and disobedience to the constituted authorities. He further says the University has provided good learning environment to its students and will not relent to do more.
He also appreciated the Ministries of Higher Education and that of Finance as well as Deans, Directors, Heads of Department, Staff on sabbaticals and visiting and all supporting staff for their untiring support which propelled the university to its present state.
Dignitaries at the event include the representative of the Chairman Governing Council BOSU, Prof. Abubakar Mustapha mni, Representative of the VC University of Maiduguri, Prof. Ibrahim Mele, Representative of the CMD UMTH Prof. Mala Bukar Sandbe, Perm Sect. Ministry of Higher Education, Representative of Ministry of Finance and Budget, Chairman House Committee of Higher Education, District Head of Auno, Representative of the Jamb among others.
The climax of the occasion was the administering of matriculation oath on the new students, who could not hide their happiness.
