Vice-Chancellor, Bayero University Kano, Professor Sagir Abbas paid a fraternal visit to the Vice-Chancellor of Borno State University (BOSU), Prof. Umar Kyari Sandabe who was represented by the DVC Academic Services, Prof, Haruna D. Dlakwa.
Prof. Sarki Abbas expresses delight to be in Borno State University describing the relationship between Bayero University Kano and Borno State University as promising.
Prof. Sarki Abbas said BUK is ever ready to render assistance to BOSU because of the level of development he saw passed his expectation. Prof. Abbas expresses willingness to partner with BOSU in terms of staff exchange, visitation and other academic and non-academic programs He believes that BOSU and BUK will have a mutual beneficial relationship in years to come. He equally exalts the qualities of Prof, Ibrahim Mohammed describing him as a gentle man.Prof, Haruna Dlakwa who welcomes the august visitor, apologize for the absence of the VC BOSU who accompanied the Governor of Borno State Prof. Umara Zullum to Lagos.
Prof, Dlakwa thanked the visitor for the installation of the Television program in the University and its effort towards the establishment of the Centre for Kanuri and Qur’anic studies. He welcomes the idea of staff exchange and other academic programs.
He said that Borno State University started two years ago with just four faculties and 634 students but current has about 2675 students. BOSU is planning to apply for approval for College of Medicine Sciences, Faculty of Law, and Faculty of Engineering and will seek for assistance from BUK in due time. After the brief discussion, DVC, BOSU conducted his visitor round structures and facilities in the Borno State University.
